A MORETON artist has followed in the footsteps of L.S. Lowry and Henry Moore after seeing his work displayed at a prestigious national art exhibition in London.
Artwork by architect Jeremy Alexander, of Pedlars End, was chosen from 600 entries to go on show at the annual exhibition of the Royal Society of British Artists at the Mall Galleries, London.
The exhibition showcased art work from the society's internationally-acclaimed members alongside the best selected work from open submission.
Mr Alexander, who described his work as "slightly abstract", said he was pleased to see his work exhibited.
"It's nice to get something in there, especially as it can be difficult for new artists to see their work exhibited."
Mr Alexander said an American gallery is keen to exhibit his work after seeing his display at the Mall Gallery.
On the exhibition, he said: "It's quite a good exhibition, some can be patchy, however many galleries seem uninterested in the avant-garde or abstract work and seem to prefer Tracey Emin's unmade bed or Damien Hirst's half a cow."
