An accountants’ foundation has become a registered charity after years of fundraising.

Loughton based firm, Haslers, launched its fundraising arm in 2008 to help good causes in the area, including the Dream Factory, Haven’s Hospice and Oakview School.

Laurence Jacobs, Chairman of Haslers said he was delighted the foundation had been granted charitable status.

He said: “Being a charity will enable the foundation to further its aims to help prevent or relieve poverty, relieve sickness and preserve health and advance the life and help young people throughout Essex, London and the South East.”

To celebrate becoming a registered charity, Haslers is holding a fundraising quiz night at the King’s Oak in High Beach on March 6.

The event takes place from 7pm and costs £25 per ticket including a meal.
