A new £665,000 “holistic care centre” at a children's hospice was opened by the Duchess of Gloucester yesterday.
The 2,356 sq ft, two-storey building will provide two consultation rooms for doctors, a music therapy room and activity space for up to 50 people.
Birgitte, Duchess of Gloucester, is the wife of Prince Richard, Duke of Gloucester, who is a grandson of King George V and Queen Mary, and first cousin of Queen Elizabeth II.
The hospice secured a £464,000 grant from the Department of Health last year, with an additional £201k of grants and donations going towards the cost.
