Police discovered 1,765 cannabis plants during a raid on an industrial unit.
Officers raided Unit 5 at Meridian Business Park, in Fleming Road, Waltham Abbey, at midday yesterday.
A total of 1,765 plants being seized and there were reports that two men have been arrested.
The plants were being grown across two floors of the unit.
People working nearby said they noticed the distinctive smell of cannabis three days ago.
Police officers were seen putting the plants through a wood chipper and loading the contents into vans.
The raid was carried out as part of Operation Trivium, a collaboration with police forces across Europe.
Police have not released any further information.
