A busy road has re-opened following a car fire this morning.
Firefighters were called to Manor Road in Woodford Bridge, on the border with Chigwell, at 9.40am to reports of a car alight.
An elderly man left the vehicle before firefigihters arrived and was treated at the scene by paramedics for shock and smoke inhalation.
The fire caused more than 50 per cent damage to the vehicle.
Chigwell Road was partially closed as crews extinguished the blaze.
The incident was over by 10am and the road has since re-opened.
