A burglar is facing deportation back to Romania after raiding two flats.
Police were called to Peel Road in South Woodford on October 28 following reports of a break-in at two flats in a terraced house.
The owner of the first floor flat had left at 4.30pm and returned home two hours later to find her entire flat had been searched.
Adrian Tanase, 25, of Uphall Road, Ilford, had used a ladder in the rear garden to climb through the top window where he then stole two watches, an iPhone, an Apple Mac laptop and jewellery.
He then gained entry to the ground floor flat by smashing a back window and took two Asus laptops.
During the search of both properties, officers found a speck of blood on the inside of a window sill.
A DNA match was confirmed and Tanase was arrested and charged with two counts of burglary.
He was jailed for 12 months at sentenced at Snaresbrook Crown Court on December 9 and ordered to pay a victim surcharge of £100.
Police and the CPS have recommended Tanase is deported back to Romania.
