An award-winning astronomer gave a talk to a photographic society yesterday.
Woodford and Wanstead Photographic Society (WWPS) were visited by Nik Szymanek, an internationally acclaimed astronomer and photographer, at Wanstead House, in The Green, last night.
Mr Szymanek, who won a Astronomical Society of the Pacific achievement award in California 2004, was talking of his work taking photographs of galaxies and space through telescopes.
He has appeared on BBC’s The Sky at Night and Final Frontier astronomy programmes.
WWPS president, Peter Rowe, said: “Nik is in demand around the world, so we were very privileged that he was willing to visit us.
“The WWPS was founded in 1893 and is one of the oldest photographic clubs in the UK, we intend to continue the tradition of inviting high quality speakers, such as Nik, who are willing to impart their photographic knowledge and experience.”
