Another takeaway has been shut down after filthy conditions were discovered by inspectors.
Mouse droppings on food containers and an open drain in a food preparation room contributed to what was described as a "catalogue of unsanitory conditions" at Tasty Chicken and Pizza - the second takeaway in Hoe Street, Walthamstow, to be closed down by Waltham Forest council this month.
Inspectors on a routine visit on Wednesday (March 25) also discovered mouse droppings on shelving and behind cooking equipment.
There was evidence that mice had gnawed through black bins bags of rubbish stored in the premises, which were also uncovered.
The premises was unclean throughout and in a very poor state of repair, according to the council, with walls covered in black mould.
Filthy cloths were being used to clean and wipe surfaces and mould was discovered growing in the microwave.
The inspector also found that temperature control was very poor, with cooked chicken used for pizza toppings stored at 15.5c rather than the regulation 8.0c.

The council on Friday March 27 applied for a Hygiene Emergency Prohibition Order.
The inspector said: “Magistrates took one look at the photographs and immediately agreed to sign the order without asking me any questions”.
The takeaway will remain closed until both structural repairs are carried out and the mouse infestation is treated.
Eat Max at 46b Hoe Street was shut on March 9 after an inspection revealed filthy conditions.
The Bakers Arms area, which includes Hoe Street and High Road, Leyton, has been ranked the ninth unhealthiest in London in a report by the Royal Society for Public Health.
