A workman has been killed in Leyton during a shop renovation project.
Police confirmed this afternoon a man in his 20s died in hospital after an accident at a site in High Road, Leyton, on Tuesday.
London Ambulance Service was called to the scene and took the man to an east London hospital with head injuries at around 11.20am and he died later.
Enquiries are underway to inform next of kin and establish his identity.
A Health and Safety Executive investigation is underway.
The shop was formerly known as Boom City and is situated near the Bakers Arms junction.
