A mother-of-four from Walthamstow who is believed to have been trying to take her children into Syria has been arrested.
Zahera Tariq, 33, was arrested at 7.45pm yesterday (September 3) as she was entering the UK, having just disembarked a flight from Istanbul, Turkey, where she was being held.
Her four children with whom she was travelling were taken into police protection.
Police in several countries launched a hunt for Zahera Tariq, 33, after she went missing on August 25.
She is believed to have been trying to reach radical family members in Syria.
Officers subsequently received official confirmation on Tuesday (September 1) that the family had been detained in Turkey by Turkish authorities.
Enquiries continue.
