MAYORS from across London are gathering in the borough for a fundraising evening of classical music.
The mayor of Waltham Forest, Cllr Saima Mahmud, is inviting mayors from every London borough to attend the Forest Philharmonic concert at Walthamstow Assembly Hall on Sunday (April 24).
The orchestra is performing excerpts from Mozart’s Don Giovanni and Strauss’ Don Juan with Beethoven’s ‘Pastoral’ Symphony No. 6 rounding off the classical programme.
A collection bucket will take donations for charities the mayor supports, Kiran Project, Haven and Waltham Forest Samaritans.
The performance gets going at 6.30pm with a pre-concert talk held before the music at 5.30pm.
Stall tickets are priced at £10 with balcony seats costing £15.
Concessions are available to students and pensioners and those under 26 can buy tickets for £3.
They are available on the door, in advance from forestphilharmonic.org.uk/concerts or email tickets@forestphilharmonic.org.uk to reserve.
