An estate agents was destroyed by a fire that erupted when a car smashed through its shopfront.
Somehow the Alfa Romeo hatchback crashed through the glass shopfront of Portico estate agents in Woodgrange Road, Forest Gate, shortly before 6am on Saturday.
Firefighters arrived to find the car on fire with flames spreading to the rest of the shop.
The car and the shop's ground floor were destroyed in the blaze.
Part of the first floor of the shop was also damaged by fire.
London Fire Brigade said the fire started when petrol vapour was ignited from an electrical spark in the car crash.
Four fire engines and 21 firefighters had the blaze under control by 6.50am.
Crews from Stratford, Leytonstone, Plaistow and Leyton fire stations were scrambled to the scene.
