Campaigners from trade unions such as Waltham Forest Trades Council, Unite Community and PCS will gather outside the office of MP Iain Duncan Smith to protest against his role in Universal Credit.
Protesters will be joined by members of Disabled People Against Cuts (DPAC) on Saturday, December 2 in Station Road Chingford.
They aim to highlight to shoppers and passersby the financial crisis many families are facing this Christmas due to a six week wait for payments under the new welfare system.
Many people across the UK have been forced to use foodbanks and have even been evicted after their landlords refused to wait for rent.
Last month the former work and pensions secretary Mr Duncan Smith, who first proposed UC, called for the waiting time to be cut from six weeks to four.
In Waltham Forest the scheme is scheduled to be rolled out in stages - Walthamstow in February, and a few months later in Leytonstone.
The groups will meet at 11.30am and will walk to nearby Chingford Mount at 1pm.
A spokesman for Chingford & Woodford Green Conservative Association said: "Iain Duncan Smith’s constituency office is there to arrange surgery appointments and support Iain’s constituency work, helping residents with problems.
"It is also in a multi-let building and will not be occupied on 2 December.
"I do hope this “protest” does not inconvenience any of the other businesses in the building – which we do not own – nor annoy the good people of Chingford as they go about their daily lives."
