Firefighters tackled a blaze in a lorry, which had caught fire on the carriageway of a busy motorway.
Crews were called to a southbound stretch of the M11 near Chigwell between junctions four and five yesterday morning (Sunday, December 10) at 5.39am to reports of a vehicle fire.
At the scene, they discovered a lorry, which was almost entirely engulfed in flames.
Firefighters spent almost three hours trying to tackle the blaze, before it was finally brought under control and extinguished by 8.30am.
Crews then stayed on the scene to check for hot spots and ensure the motorway was safe.
Engines from Epping, Loughton, Harlow, Brentwood, Old Harlow, Corringham and Ilford stations were called to deal with the incident.
