A survey has revealed that 30 per cent of Londoners think that Sadiq Khan is ‘doing badly’ as Mayor
The study by YouGov, commissioned by Queen Mary University London, says 30 per cent of Londoners think Sadiq Khan is doing badly as Mayor whilst just over half think he is doing well.
Commenting on the figures Philip Cowley, Professor of Politics at Queen Mary and Director of the Mile End Institute, said: “The Mayor still has the sort of satisfaction ratings that most British politicians would kill for, but there is a clear deterioration in his standing.”
The survey also found that an overwhelming majority of Londoners believe many key services have got worse over the last 12 months in the city.
Out of the people who were surveyed 25 per cent of people thought public transport had got worse; 26 per cent thought schools and education had got worse and 53 per cent of people surveyed said they thought NHS services had got worse.
Mr Cowley added: “On every issue we asked about, more people thought things had got worse than thought things had improved, often by a huge margin.”
However, despite the results another survey by YouGov during the same time said that over 50 per cent of people would vote for Labour in a local election- higher than that of any other party.
