A CRASH victim who was initially thought to have life-threatening injuries has surprised medics by making a rapid recovery.
The 26-year-old woman was hit by a car in Lea Bridge Road, Leyton, shortly before 7.20pm last night (Tuesday).
She was taken to the Royal London Hospital, in Whitechapel, suffering from apparently life-threatening" injuries, but improved quickly and her condition is no longer critical.
Lea Bridge Road, between the junction with Markhouse Road and Argall Way, was closed for nearly five hours, reopening at midnight.
There was also another accident in Lea Bridge Road at 4.15pm yesterday.
A van and a motorcycle collided.
The motorcyclist, believed to be in his 30s, was taken to hospital and treated for minor injuries.
