A TORCHBEARER spoke of his joy at carrying the Olympic flame last weekend.
Erim Metto, 44, walked with pride as he brought the torch from Grosvenor Park Road to Walthamstow Central Tube Station on Saturday, July 21.
"It was a majorly humbling experience," he said. "It was like the whole community had come together to share the moment with me.
"I did feel nervous because the world's eyes are on you at that moment. My family was cheering me on though and I felt very proud."
The father-of-two from Waltham Way in Chingford was picked for his role in supporting the Turkish community in London.
He is the first Turkish magistrate in the UK, serving in Enfield, and has led many community projects benefitting Turks.
