A man was rushed to hospital with burns after a car fire on the A406 this morning.
His vehicle is believed to have burst into flames after it crashed on a stretch of the road between Charlie Brown's Roundabout and the Redbridge Roundabout at around 9.30am.
The motorist, who is believed to be aged in his 40s, suffered burns to his face and hand.
However a spokeswoman for the London Ambulance Service said his injuries are not thought to be life-threatening.
She said he was treated at the scene before being taken to Whipps Cross Hospital in Leytonstone.
A spokeswoman for the London Fire Brigade said: "We were called at 9.29am and had the fire extinguished by 9.46am".
Two lanes of the A406 were closed following the smash, causing knock-on traffic jams in the region, including on the M11.
One lane has since reopened but delays are still reported in the area.
