MORE than 50 properties were left without electricity this morning after a power cut hit premises along a busy high street.
Businesses and homes in Wanstead High Street were deprived of electricity for several hours from 7:30am this morning (Tuesday February 16), with many still without a supply.
A spokesman for EDF Energy said: “Power was interrupted to 56 customers in the High Street area of Wanstead at 7.32am today, due to a suspected fault on the underground electricity network.
“This fault has been located and EDF Energy Networks engineers are currently on site, working to restore power as quickly as possible.
“We do appreciate how difficult it is to be without power and would like to apologise for the inconvenience caused.”
