WEST HAM have sacked assistant coach Zeljko Petrovic, according to reports.

The Daily Mail claim the club have acted swiftly following the team's dismal weekend showing at Liverpool, where they lost 3-0, and have removed Petrovic just four months into the job.

Avram Grant appears safe for the time being as manager, following comments made by vice-chairman Karren Brady last week, when she said the Israeli boss would 'almost definitely' still be at the helm come the end of the season.

Grant brought Petrovic on board two weeks before the start of the season, despite coaches Kevin Keen and Paul Groves helping to guide the team through their pre-season campaign unbeaten.

It has been reported that Petrovic's presence had caused unrest amongst the players.

And after reportedly dismissing Petrovic, it appears co-owner David Sullivan has been true to his word when he said he would 'shuffle the pack' if the team failed to meet his target of seven points from their previous four matches – the team managed just three.
