THE race is on to appoint a successor to Avram Grant at West Ham after the Israeli was sacked in the immediate aftermath of the club's relegation to the Championship.

Steve McClaren is the odds-on favourite to take the job, but other frontrunners include Sam Allardyce, Neil Warnock, Chris Hughton and Gus Poyet, while team assistant coach Kevin Keen - who has been put in charge of the club's final game of the season against Sunderland - is also in the frame.
