Scott Cuthbert looks set for a spell on the sidelines after being forced off in the first half at Charlton Athletic on Saturday with a hamstring problem.
The Scottish defender made a fine tackle to prevent a cross from coming into the box but in doing so went down clutching his leg before having to be replaced.
O’s boss Russell Slade said: “It is a serious hamstring problem. That is another thing really which is frustrating for myself and the football club at the minute. We are having to keep changing around because we have had numerous injuries and Scotty is just another so it is a serious hamstring injury.
“He is not a right back but he did a job for us, or attempted to do a job for us in the first period, and of course (Terrell) Forbsey is not a left back, he is a centre half, but needs must right now.”
Dean Cox missed the midweek trip to Oldham Athletic with a virus but returned to the Orient bench on Saturday.
The midfielder was given 20 minutes at the end of the contest and Slade added that he would be in contention for tromorrow’s clash with Huddersfield Town.
“Coxy has had a virus so he wasn’t even involved on Tuesday night,” explained the manager. “We are just bringing him back gradually.
“He has had 20 minutes and he has an opportunity perhaps to stake a claim now for Tuesday’s game against Huddersfield.”
Also missing from the last two matches have been Leon McSweeney and Jamal Campbell-Ryce, but the duo look unlikely to feature tomorrow night.
Asked if the pair might be involved for the visit of the Terriers, Slade replied: “No, they will still be sidelined in the short term for sure.”
