Scott Cuthbert looks set to miss the remainder of the season with a hamstring injury picked up at Charlton Athletic.
The former Swindon Town man has impressed in his debut campaign for the O’s but looks set to play no part in the final six games, with Russell Slade confirming the 24-year-old faces three months out.
Orient return to action on Friday when they welcome Notts County to Brisbane Road and Cuthbert is unlikely to be the only absentee.
Slade added that Leon McSweeney and Jamal Campbell-Ryce remain in the treatment room but there could finally be some light at the end of the tunnel for Jamie Jones, with the manager suggesting the former Everton youngster could be involved.
On Friday’s match, Slade said: “Jamie could be in contention for sure. Of the outfielders, Sweens is still away from it and Jamal is still away from it, and obviously Scotty has picked up a nasty injury which will keep him out probably for up to three months.”
