E17 Art House launched artist Emma Scutt’s Walthamstow Calendar 2019 last week.
The Walthamstow Calendar started in November 2013 when Walthamstow artist Emma Scutt illustrated and produced her first calendar for a Christmas charity craft fair.
It was so popular that Emma has painted twelve new Walthamstow images every year and made a calendar from these.
She has built up quite a fan base over the years and residents are looking forward to the latest one, her sixth which she is launching this year with an accompanying exhibition in E17 Art House on Hoe Street.
Emma, who graduated with a degree in Illustration in 1992 at Norwich School of Art, and has shown her work in many venues over the years including the House of Commons.
She will be showing her original water colour images as well as prints from previous years’ calendars.
“We are so excited to have the calendar launch at E17 Art House this year,” say Kirsten and Elaine, who set up the picture framing gallery in 2010. “It’s become a bit of a Walthamstow institution and people started asking for the new one a while ago. We are really proud to be able to support local artists, there is so much creative talent in Waltham Forest.”
The Walthamstow Calendar 2019 launched at E17 Art House on Friday (Nov 2) and Emma’s work will be up in the gallery until December 22.
E17 Art House, 54-56 Hoe Street, Walthamstow, E17 4PG – open Tuesday to Saturday, 10am to 6pm. Details: e17arthouse.com
