LET’S DANCE - A TRIBUTE TO DAVID BOWIE AND LABYRINTH SCREENING

Get out the face paint and platform boots and dress up in one of Bowie’s many colourful outfits so you can boogie on down to some of his greatest hits following a screening of the ‘80s fantasy film. The Hoxton music and arts pub wants you to help create the soundtrack by posting requests on its Facebook page. It says: “We were so sad to hear the news that the Starman, the Goblin King, the one and only David Bowie passed away. This Saturday we will be celebrating his amazing career at The Macbeth and we really hope you can join us.”

DAVID BOWIE TRIBUTE: LABYRINTH UNDERGROUND FILM CLUB

A one-off charity screening of the fim with 100 per cent of profits going to LGBT charity Stonewall.

Organisers say: "Over the years, we've loved watching our audiences dress up, sing and dance along to Labyrinth on the rooftops. 
"Following Monday's news, we wanted to pay tribute to an icon who has been so influential to many of our guests. We're hosting a one-off charity event this Saturday to celebrate Bowie’s enduring contribution to the world of entertainment with a screening of the cherished 80s classic. Our bar will also be playing back-to-back Bowie before the screening, of course! 
"David Bowie's vibrancy and visibilty has made him an important icon within the LGBT community. To honour this, we'll be donating 100 per cent of profits from this screening to our friends at Stonewall to aid their continuing efforts to promote acceptance without exception."

BURN DOWN THE DISCO - BOWIE TRIBUTE

After nights scheduled to celebration of Bowie’s 25th studio album sold out within hours of his death, Burn Down the Disco has listened to fans and made their event this weekend a tribute to the Brixton-born creative genius. Expect music, visuals and more, all celebrating the man who made being skinny, ginger and snaggle-toothed oh so cool. And, in recognition of David’s battle with cancer, they will be donating 50 per cent of the profits to Cancer Research UK. Strictly over-18s only.

IN CELEBRATION OF DAVID BOWIE - LABYRINTH MASQUERADE BALL

This screening of the iconic 1986 film starring Bowie as Goblin King Jareth has been extended to also include some of his best music videos shown on the big screen ahead of the film. Fancy dress is encouraged and 25 per cent of the profits will go to Macmillan Cancer Support.

SCREENINGS OF LABYRINTH

Picturehouse cinemas in Stratford, Hackney, Crouch End, Central London and The Ritzy are showing the film over the next few days. It was shot at Elstree Studios and features Bowie strutting around in leather singing five songs including Magic Dance and Underground.

CELEBRATING THE LIFE & MUSIC OF DAVID BOWIE

The Shacklewell Arm's second event will see all of its regular DJs play Bowie's back catalogue, the songs of his contemporaries (Lou Reed, Iggy Pop, T-Rex, etc), as well as more recent collaborative projects he's worked on (LCD Soundsystem, TV On The Radio, etc), plus some covers of this material by other artists. All proceeds from the evening will be donated to War Child UK.

This five-piece David Bowie Tribute has toured all over Europe for the last eight years, faithfully performing his music. DAVID BOWIE - CHARITY TRIBUTE NIGHT

Trinity Bar in Harrow is organising a night with live bands playing tribute sets to Bowie and a plethora of DJs who will play not only Bowie but also the huge array of acts he influenced, covers and (space)oddities.

Money made from sales of the Blackstar cocktail will go to Cancer Research. There will also be numerous collection buckets and a prize for the best Bowie inspired costume.

The night will kick off at 8.30pm with a Bowie charity quiz and a raffle off some Bowie related prizes.

EARL SLICK AND BERNARD FOWLER PERFORM DAVID BOWIE’S STATION TO STATION

Guitarist Earl Slick was initially hired by David Bowie to replace Mick Ronson as lead guitarist for the Diamond Dogs tour in 1974 and went on to play with him on albums Young Americans and Station to Station and on the Serious Moonlight tour. He has teamed up with singer Bernard Fowler (The Rolling Stones) to mark the 40th anniversary of Bowie’s Station to Station album by performing the masterpiece in full along with a set of other classic Bowie, Lennon and Rolling Stones songs from their careers with those artists.
