BREWERS are hoping drinkers will raise money for charity when they raise a glass of their specially produced ale.
Pitfields Organic Brewery in Little Laver Road, Moreton, is producing the St Clare Hospice Light ale in aid of the charity in Hastingwood.
Michael Chapman, chairman of the board of trustees on the district’s only hospice, said: “We’ve set a £50 challenge to local businesses and said ‘if we give you £50, can you double or treble it?’
“As a result, a local brewery was asked to do a special brew for St Clare.
“The target will be to provide enough money for food for a day at the hospice.”
The ale will officially go on sale at the Woodbine Inn in Waltham Abbey in the next couple of weeks and the hospice is hoping to get other pubs in the district on board.
