THE future of London's police stations is expected to be revealed on Tuesday.
According to Roger Evans, GLA member for Redbridge and Havering, a plan outlining proposals on police-owned buildings will be released by Boris Johnson's Office for Policing and Crime.
Wanstead and Woodford police stations are expected to be earmarked for closure, despite a strong community campaign calling for them to remain open.
The Met has been told to cut its budget by £500million by 2015 and is expected to sell off a number of buildings.
Mr Evans delivered a petition signed by 3,500 people calling for Wanstead police station to be saved to the Greater London Assembly (GLA) yesterday.
It is believed to be the first police petition to be presented to the GLA on the issue.
He said: "At the moment we are only working with speculation as to which police stations could close. We should see a lot more with this plan."
