AN IMPROVING primary school has been praised by education watchdog Ofsted.
Whitehall Primary School, in Normanton Park, Chingford, was judged to be 'satisfactory' after its last inspection in 2010, but has now been upgraded to 'good' in a report published this month.
Inspectors praised headteacher Jacqui Holder for her "strong leadership" and said the quality of teaching was rising.
The creative writing, safety and behaviour of pupils was also praised.
But Ofsted said the school could not be classed as 'outstanding' yet because teaching was not consistent enough and improvements were needed in mathematics.
Whitehall, which oversees the education of 460 children, was inspected in early October.
