A MAN has admitted killing a pensioner by driving dangerously.
Grandfather Ambrose Skingle, 86, was walking in Coppice Row, Theydon Bois, on January 17 when he was knocked over. He died in hospital four weeks later.
Peter Cole, 87, of London Road, Abridge, pleaded guilty to causing death by dangerous driving and making a false statement to obtain a driving licence at Chelmsford Crown Court today.
He is due to be sentenced during the week beginning Monday, November 19 and has been banned from driving in the meantime.
In a tribute to Mr Skingle, who was known as Bob, his family said: “He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and friend.
“He was a hard working man, who always put others first, especially his family.”
