DOG shampoo which could be harmful to unborn babies has been stolen from a pet grooming salon.
Owner Angela Preddy fears the thieves could try to sell the products on the black market, and even pass them off as products for humans, after they were stolen from Valley Groomers in Valley Parade, Chingford, on October 21.
Two of the bottles contain Permethrin, which is used to treat flees and should not be handled by expectant mothers as it could effect their baby's nervous system.
Mrs Preddy said: "It was a bit of a weird thing to steal
"The two green bottles shouldn't be handled by pregnant women and you have to use gloves for them."
Two of Mrs Preddy's staff won awards at the British Dog Grooming Championship 2012 in Birmingham at the weekend.
The salon opened on October 5.
