PUPILS at a primary school will be able to have breakfast before lessons for free at a new club set up at their school.
Shelley Primary School in Milton Crescent, Ongar, has started feeding 25 pupils toast, cereal, yoghurt and fruit from 8.15am to 8.50am, with the help of teachers, parents and grandparents.
Volunteers from St Martin’s church in the High Street will also attend one day a week.
Head teacher Lesley Lewis said: "We know this is going to give our young people a great start to their day and the number signing up means they really want to have breakfast together."
