PUPILS from six primary schools battled it out in a quiz held to celebrate Black History Month.
Teams from Buxton Primary, Downsell, George Tomlinson, Gwyn Jones, Riverley and Jenny Hammond, all in the south of Waltham Forest, took part.
It was won by host school Jenny Hammond, in Worsley Road, Leytonstone.
The winning pupils received a glass trophy while everyone who took part got a medal and certificate.
The event was sponsored by Leytonstone restaurant The Star of India.
Jenny Hammond headteacher Deborah Gibbon said: “Events such as these bring the community together and are important in celebrating the achievements of black people throughout history to the modern day.
"All the children had a fantastic time tonight and everyone learned a lot and had a lot of fun at the same time."
