A PERSONAL trainer has beaten thousands of hopefuls to reach the final of a national competition.

James Quilter, 29, of Hainault Road in Chigwell, is one of the top ten trainers listed in Exorex's Personal Trainer of the Year Competition, and if he wins will receive £1,000 to spend on training equipment.

Mr Quilter, who works at Studio 23 gym in Forest Road, Walthamstow, was nominated by his client Claire Winberg, 59, of Princess Road in Wanstead.

She said: "James is very inspirational, he gets to know each client on an individual basis. He knew how to change my diet and get me fit.

"He’s always there when you need to talk to him and when you need support – a delightful young man."

Mr Quilter added: "Being recognised for excelling in your profession is always nice. Seeing your clients achieve their personal goals is even better."

The winner of Exorex Personal Trainer of the Year will be chosen in November by a panel of judges including Cathy Brown.
