A CHARITY auction will raise vital funds so a baby diagnosed with eye cancer weeks after suffering brain damage during birth can get the medical help she needs.

Evelyn, or 'Evie', Shears was born in January after a complication during labour deprived her of oxygen.

She was subsequently diagnosed with cerebral palsy, which causes speech and movement difficulties.

Weeks later her parents, Aimey and James Shears, were told she was also suffering with retinoblastoma, a cancer of the eye.

Evie will need constant medical support to help her disabilities and all money raised at the auction being held at the King's Oak Hotel in Nursery Road, Loughton on Friday will be donated to Evie's fund.

Items for sale at the auction, which starts at 8pm, include a walk around number 10 Downing Street, a signed England football shirt, a signed West Ham football and a Swarovsky brooch.

To find out more about the night or to book tickets which cost £15 call Kerry Coe on 07827 337334.
