A CHAOTIC parking situation outside a school could come to a head after a fresh bid to ban parents pulling up there to drop their children off.
A group of town councillors is pushing roads authorities to paint double yellow lines outside Leverton infant and junior schools in Honey Lane, Waltham Abbey.
They claim parking before and after classes is dangerous and makes it hard for residents to move around.
But Leila Holmes-Denton, 29, who has a four-year-old son at the infant school, said: “What are people going to do if there are double yellow lines?
“I drive to the next turning to keep out of the way, but there are a lot of children to drop off.
“I think we need more parking.”
Lisa Wrigley, 36, who also has a four-year-old son at the school, said: “I walk to school, but if I drove, I would be of the view that it’s only for half an hour in the morning and evening.”
The councillors – Richard James, Antony Watts and Michael Fitch – have written to the North East Parking Partnership asking for yellow lines to be painted in Honey Lane between Shernbrooke Road and Windmill Close.
