There was great excitement at Forest School in Snaresbrook at the start of the half term holiday when 30 lucky teenagers and four brave staff set off for an 8 day geography road trip to the West Coast of America.
A fabulous itinerary was planned by Travelbound, a travel agency providing educational tours for schools and colleges.
After a whistle stop tour of San Francisco, one of the most densely populated cities in America, the group headed to Muir Woods, where Planet of the Apes was filmed, to marvel at the giant redwood trees.
Next stop was Yosemite National Park to spend the day amongst valleys carved by glaciers and giant sequoia trees. Back on the bus through the Nevada Desert to see the incredible Death Valley, before a change of scene in Las Vegas.
Next on to the Grand Canyon before hitting Santa Monica and the City of Angels, Los Angeles. The teenagers had time for picking up some bargain buys before heading for the airport.
Although the flight had a good selection of the latest films; most of the teenagers (and exhausted staff) slept all the way home. After that adventure I’m not surprised!
