TESCO could pay for "lollipop people" to improve the safety of children walking to school.
The supermarket has confirmed it is considering a proposal from local councillors to introduce crossing guards outside Thorpe Hall School in Hale End Road, Walthamstow, and Oakhill Primary School in Alders Avenue, Woodford Green.
Neil Banks, manager of the Tesco superstore in Highams Park, said: "We do a lot in the community but we do it for the community, not for advertising."
