THE COUNTY'S first elected police and crime commissioner will be named this afternoon.
A turnout of 10.34 per cent was recorded across Epping Forest after polls closed at 10pm last night, with 10,221 people voting out of an electorate of 98,862.
Turnout across Essex was just 13.06 per cent.
The district's votes are being counted at Theydon Bois village Hall and will be forwarded to Chelmsford City Council, where the votes from across Essex will be collated.
Six candidates stood in the county - Nick Alston for the Conservatives, Labour’s Val Morris-Cook, UK Independence Party candidate Andrew Smith, Robin Tilbrook of the English Democrats, and independent candidates Linda Belgrove and Mick Thwaites.
The county's result is expected to be announced at about 1pm.
