MEMBERS of a band have thanked people for their help in searching for their missing friend, who was found dead yesterday.
Friendly Fires, friends of Adam Connolly, from Hackney, said on their Facebook page: “The search for Adam Connolly has been called off and the news is bad.
“Thank you for all your help in spreading his picture and info.”
The band’s drummer, Jack Savidge, is believed to have been Mr Connolly’s housemate.
The search for the 29-year-old was extended to Epping Forest, Springfield Park, near Walthamstow and Leyton Marshes, after he went missing from his home on Wednesday.
A police spokesman said: “On Saturday, 17 November, the body of a man was found near to Lee Valley Ice Rink.
“Although officers await formal identification, they are satisfied that the deceased is Adam Connolly. Next of kin have been informed.
“A post-mortem examination will be held in due course.
“At this early stage, the death is not believed to be suspicious.
“Inquiries continue by Hackney officers to establish full circumstances.”
