ONE of the newest stars of the hit TV show The Only Way is Essex will flick the switch on Ongar’s Christmas lights this year.
Ricky Rayment, who joined the ITV2 reality show in February, will arrive in the town on a steam train from North Weald, courtesy of the Epping Ongar Railway, on December 7.
The Ongar Round Table is also arranging a parade through the town for Santa, starting at 6pm at the station and heading to Manor Square in the High Street.
Festivities in the town centre will get under way at 4.45pm, and the lights will go on at 7pm.
The railway is running three return services on the day.
