BUSINESS owners and residents are invited to have their say on the latest plans to regenerate Barkingside.

At a meeting on November 29 from 7.30pm in Fullwell Cross Library, in High Street, more detailed proposals on the regeneration of the High Street are being revealed by architects after a public consultation in September.

The Better Barkingside project will the High Street transformed to include a new town square with lighting, street furniture, planting and parking all improved.

The paved area by the Fullwell Cross Leisure Centre and in Virginia Gardens will be redeveloped and the space around the library will be opened up to improve space for community activities.

Transport links between the High Street and Fairlop Waters will also be improved as part of the project.

It is funded by a grant of almost £2million from the Mayor of London and a further £200,000 from Redbridge Council, with building works expected to begin in Spring 2013 and be completed by the end of March 2014.
