A GROUP representing religions has been praised for its commitment to equality.
The Redbridge Faith Forum has been awarded the Compact of Advancing Equalities Award, which recognises good relationships between government and the voluntary sector.
Working with Adult Social Services and the NHS, the forum developed a faith-based care directory called To Comfort Always which helps GPs, hospitals and care homes understand the spiritual needs of the diverse community in Redbridge.
Mayor of Redbridge cllr Muhammed Javed said: "I was delighted to witness the announcement of this award, it's a result of the hard work put in by individuals and shows a good working partnership between the council and the voluntary sector."
