YOUNG fundraisers showed their spots to raise more than £1,000 for Children in Need.

Children and staff at St Andrew's C of E Primary School in North Weald donned fancy dress on Friday, with prizes for the spottiest infant and junior pupils.

Youngsters also sold Pudsey key rings, wrist bands, badges and home-made cakes and held a grand raffle.

School secretary Debbie Stainsbury said: "We have never raised this much money for Children In Need before.

"Pupils took part in a talent show and there was an extra special turn at the end - staff performed a small sketch entitled Snow White and the Little People. 

"Little people were dressed in baseball caps, waistcoats, long socks and boots and did a 'rap' and a dance. The children went wild and thought we were all great."

Deputy headteacher Charles Padfield and sports coach Danny Honeyball also got into the fundraising spirit, shaving off their beards to the delight of pupils.

Meanwhile students at St. John’s C E Secondary School in Epping raised more than £500 by paying £1 each to wear non-uniform shoes for the day and selling Pudsey merchandise.

Pupils of the Tower Road school are continuing to fundraise, holding a school quiz and a 'guess the member of staff from the baby photo' contest.
