MEMBERS of a synagogue got involved in all sorts of activities to help those in need on Mitzvah Day.
People at the Chigwell and Hainault Synagogue in Limes Avenue, Chigwell, donated t-shirts to the charity Onechild Ghana, which was set up by member Jamie Belnikoff to support schools in the country.
“I am so grateful to everyone who donated,” he said. “They will be much appreciated.”
Toddlers from the nursery at the synagogue made gift boxes for donated toys which were sent to the charity Barnardos.
Children from the synagogue’s Cheder group also helped make and decorate cookies for ill people in the community as part of the event on Sunday, as well as planting bulbs and giving out chocolate to passers-by.
