A HEART attack survivor marked the end of Movember by having his Spaghetti Western-style moustache shaved off.
Farooq Mohammed, of Draycott Road in Wanstead and five fellow members of team Two Touch FC, based at Whipps Cross Hospital in Leytonstone, raised £2,000 for the British Heart Foundation throughout the month.
The 44-year-old was rushed into surgery five days after a random health check at work revealed three of his arteries were blocked.
He said: "It was a massive shock. I was a fit guy who went to the gym and looked after myself.
"With hindsight I feel very blessed I have been given another chance.
"It has been an interesting month with some strange looks."
Two Touch is part of a scheme set up by the head nurse at Whipps Cross University Hospital, Brian Coleman, which helps people with heart problems get exercise.
The moustaches were removed on Friday at KL Men’s Hair Salon in High Road, Leytonstone.
