THE HIGH Sheriff of Essex is seeking deserving organisations to receive recognition and grants.
The High Sheriff's awards scheme offers grants of up to £1,000 to voluntary groups and recognition to individuals who make an outstanding contribution to keep their communities safe.
High Sheriff Christopher Palmer-Tomkinson said: "My year as High Sheriff has enabled me to meet some amazing people and visit so many voluntary organisations that are working with local people to keep our communities safe from crime.
"The annual High Sheriff's awards ceremony provides a wonderful opportunity for their valuable contribution to be recognised so I would urge organisations to apply for the funding that they need."
An independent judging panel chaired by the High Sheriff will decide the winners, who will receive their awards at a ceremony in March next year.
- The deadline for applications is December 1 and forms can be found at www.essexcommunityfoundation.org.uk.
- To discuss an application, contact the foundation’s grants team on 01245 356018.
