A COMMUNITY club has received a blooming welcome boost from a church flower festival.
The Ongar Club for the Physically Handicapped has been given £500 by St Andrew's Church, Greensted.
The Reverend Andrei Petrine, parochial church council secretary Amanda Tester and churchwarden David Tester presented the cheque to chairman Colin Green at a tea party in St James Church Hall, Ongar, yesterday.
The flower festival, which took place on June 9 and 10, raised more than £2,000 with proceeds supporting the club and the cost of a new organ and church repairs.
Ongar Club for the Physically Handicapped chairman Colin Green said: "It is marvellous to receive support such as this.
"The donation is very much appreciated by everyone associated with the club."
