A FLOOD alert has put in place for areas around the middle River Roding.
The Environment Agency has issued the alert for Abridge, Loughton and Buckhurst Hill.
It said river levels were very high and expected to remain so, adding: “No properties are expected to be affected directly from the river but local draining networks could be affected and some flooding to low lying land near the river is possible.
“A further period of rain is expected Saturday afternoon and evening which will cause the river level to slowly rise again going into Sunday.”
