THE headteacher of King Solomon High School in Barkingside is leaving.
Spencer Lewis will start a new job as head of Yavneh College in Hertfordshire at the end of the current academic year.
Mr Lewis has been at King Solomon in Forest Road since 1994 and was appointed head teacher in 2007.
He said: “King Solomon is an exceptional school in a wonderful community.
“I will be sad to leave but very much look forward to this new challenge.”
Stephanie Sollosi, chair of governors at the school, said: “Mr Lewis has done a fantastic job of leading the school which has flourished and progressed significantly under his leadership.
“We will certainly miss him but wish him every success in his new position.
“The Governing Body are committed to ensuring a smooth transition and the process of selecting a new head teacher will begin as soon as possible.”
King Solomon will merge with Ilford Jewish Primary in September 2013, with the primary school moving from Carlton Road in Barkingside to new buildings which are being constructed on the Forest Road site.
