FAMILIES escaped a wet November weekend by trying their hands at Celtic crafts in the warmth of a village church.
The Church of the Holy Innocents in High Beach hosted a Scottish Advent activity day on Saturday, with everything from sporran making to pancake tossing on offer.
Youngsters paid a small fee to have a go at making their own Santa sacks, picture frames and Christmas decorations, while parents escaped the dreary weather with a buffet and drinks.
Rev Gill Hopkins said: "It was a very wet November day and we were just delighted with the number of children who turned out and we gave them a warm welcome.
"The day raised £575 for church funds and everybody had a good time."
